Pros and cons of Digital Altimeter app for iPhone and iPad

Digital Altimeter app good for

I take frequent motorcycle trips up into the mountains here in Northern California. I can check my elevation whereever I stop. It is very accurate and it also gives you the latitude and longitude of your location. Neat little no nonsense app! Thanks!
Since the modification to measure in feet and not meters we think this is great!
I know the x -y at my house and this displayed it dead on.. Very nice thanks!
I have been checking the results of this app very frequently and I am impressed with the creators effort to make it accurate as it was pretty messed up at first. Recently we were out in the middle of nowhere trying to take a shortcut back home. We were unable to successfully navigate through several roads because of snowfall. I remembered this app, took it out, measured our altitude and used our results to determine if we could make it through a pass several miles in on a road we wanted to take. The map we had was a general use road map not designed to give accurate topo information. This app made the map much more useful and saved us hours of driving. So cool!
I just climbed a Colorado 14er yesterday and downloaded this app to keep track of my altitude. It was off by less than 100 feet the whole time and kept up with my buddys $90 altimeter he just bought from REI. Plus, the whole time I had no cell service at all; it was strictly GPS. Pretty incredible if you ask me. Also, we were driving to a trail that our info gave us the longitude and latitude for, and this app nailed it. If youre using this in a hiking/outdoor setting this app is beyond worth the 99 cents.
Great little app. I have tested this against other altimeters and it does eventually zero in on the correct height. It takes about a minute or two to get there though. If that could be sped up a bit that would be nice and earn the extra star. Now if you can make a pedometer I could delet the aweful "dimensions" app

Some bad moments

Cest franchement pas convaincant : trop de mal à trouver le signal GPS...
I chose this because it showed the Longitude and Latitude as well. The i button does absolutely nothing and that clicking noise while working is really annoying. Although it is a nice pretty app, there is a lot that can be done to improve it.
Can not trun off noisie clicking sound not accurate approx. 200 m shot a 1700 m
After turning phone off and then ok this app as so many others worked fine. I dont understand why this important step is missing from most apps and is probably the reason for many bad reviews.
Just wont work. Usually just hunts around, but if it does finally lock on, the altitude is off by 500 to 2000 feet and the GPS position is all over the place as well. The font for the GPS position is tiny and hard to read, but thats academic, as the accuracy is worthless. Tried it in various places with the same results. Gave up and removed it from the phone.
I had high hopes for this app, but it never worked. Even in known areas, it was always off by a minimum of 200 and as much as 700 ft. Turned off the phone, did all the normal things - still not functional. Waste of time.
